Biography

Michel Duran was born in Saint-Etienne, France and passed his childhood between the southeast, and La Rochelle on the west coast.

From the age of four, through doors opened initially by his mother, a physical education teacher, he was involved in sport - as an pole-vault athlete at the national championship level, as a coach of the national backcountry ski team and as a technical marketer for high performance sports equipment. At one point, he crossed the Atlantic ocean on the Whitbread racing sailboat Penn Duick VI.

During high school and university, where he earned a Master of Science in sport physiology and an MBA, he acquired significant stage experience in regional theatre companies, performing in modern and classical French plays.

Michel Moves to Canada

In 1997, he moved his young family to Vancouver. An intense period passed in which he established himself in Canada.

In 2001, through his consulting activities in personal training and business development, he began to build a network of contacts related to the movie industry, focused his energy on cinema and theatre, and in January 2004, engaged in intense training as an actor.

By 2004, he was clear on the opportunities offered by a French origin and a North American environment, and began to develop formal business concepts. Since 2004, he travels widely in France, looking closely at players and opportunities in theatre and film.

The Launch of CMHL Enterprises

At the end of 2004, he launched CMHL Enterprises, a company with the mandate to develop and produce films. In December 2006, he launched the "Théâtre de l'Arbre Perché" a theatre company with the mandate to produce one play per year from the classical French repertoire and to establish a training centre for the actors involved in its permanent ensemble and for guests artists.
